Justin

Justin is the owner and General Manager of Moby Dick. He originally started at the store in 2002 and has worked in every department, including servicing. In 2022, Justin and his wife purchased Moby Dick to maintain its legacy and continue a major staple of Waterford, which has been around since the 1970’s. Justin has multiple saltwater aquariums at home, where he grows out coral for the store. When Justin isn’t at the store, he enjoys traveling internationally, snorkeling and playing ice hockey.

Ryan

Ryan is the Assistant Manager and has been at Moby Dick since 2011. Ryan was previously the Reptile Manager but really excels in any department at the store. His favorite animal we carry is an Ancisturus pleco. When Ryan isn’t at the store he spends as much time as he can, riding his bike both on and off road, gardening, and gaming. At home, Ryan has a cat, dog and a box turtle.

Phil

Phil is the Saltwater Manager and has been at Moby Dick for over 15 years. Phil has previously been our Service Manager so he does a phenomenal job of ensuring our saltwater systems are very well maintained. Phil’s favorite part of his department is the coral as it is ever changing and we are always exploring what new things we can grow at the store. When Phil isn’t at work he tries to vacation as much as possible so he can go snorkeling.

Gary

Gary is the Director of Customer Relations and has been at Moby Dick for over 20 years. Gary has worked in every department here at the store but his endless knowledge of products cannot be found anywhere else. Gary loves the saltwater Foxface and Ornate Bicher. When Gary isn’t at the store he tries to spend as much time as he can, fishing or even ice fishing in the winter.

Dan

Dan is the Freshwater Manager and has worked at Moby Dick since 2012. While specializing in freshwater Dan is really an expert with every type of animal we carry and more. Dan’s favorite freshwater fish is an Oscar. When Dan isn’t at the store he enjoys the outdoors doing things like camping, fishing, and gardening as well as playing video games and painting miniature figures. At home, Dan has freshwater and saltwater tanks, a cat, a dog, a snake, and birds.

Kim

Kim has been helping out since November 2023, and loves to help and chat with customers! When Kim isn’t working she loves to spend time with her family, including her new granddaughter. Kim personally has a freshwater aquarium and a mini Australian shepherd. Kim is fond of many of the animals here but some of her favorites are the colorful freshwater fish and shrimp, and chameleons.

Genevieve

Genevieve helps around in all departments of the store and she is able to help with anything from dry goods to reptiles! When she inst in the store, she enjoys spending time outdoors, or working on her creative hobbies. Some of which include jewelry making, participating in craft shows, and other mixed media artwork.At home, Genevieve has one cat, but would love to find new companions to take in. Genevieve’s favorite animal we sell is the red ghost rider millipede.

Riley

Riley is one of the reptile managers here at Moby dick and has been here since 2021. Riley loves many different animals here and is knowledgeable about freshwater, marine, and reptiles. At home Riley has 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 leopard geckos, a uromsatyx, a curly hair tarantula, 2 rats, a mouse and a freshwater tank. When Riley isn’t working, she enjoys going to concerts, spending time with friends and her pets, and doing back flips. Riley’s favorite animal we sell here is a uromastyx.

Lola

Lola is one of the reptile managers and has worked here since 2023. She started out working through a school program, and ended up loving the people and atmosphere and stayed even past school. Lola loves all the animals here, but her favorites are Fat tail geckos and mountain horned dragons.At home, Lola has a jumping spider, Crested gecko, freshwater tanks, tree frogs, a dog, a cat, and isopods. When Lola isn’t working, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, spending time outside, and exploring new places.

Tara

Tara is the dry goods manager and has been here since 2024. Tara usually works with the dry good supplies, but is very knowledgeable and enjoys working with fresh and saltwater, and reptiles. When Tara isn’t working she loves to go hiking, especially in national parks. She enjoys swimming, playing video games, and studying prehistoric times. At home Tara has Freshwater tanks, 2 leopard geckos, a ball python, isopods, Millipedes, 5 cats and one dog. Tara’s favorite animal we sell here are isopods.

Payton

Payton started here in 2024 and has been working in all the animal departments since. Payton is particularly knowledgeable about saltwater and freshwater, but still knows much about reptiles and amphibians. In his free time, Payton enjoys sports, gaming, reading, and talking to friends. Payton personally, has a reef tank, betta fish, and many kinds of snakes. His favorite animals we sell are seahorses and snakes

Logan

Logan has been here since 2025 and spends most of the day taking care of the saltwater and freshwater fish. Outside of work Logan enjoys gardening, plant taxonomy, modifying clothes, and crafting. At home, Logan has a betta, a cat, and a dog, and is working on getting a shrimp tank. Her favorite animal we carry are sexy shrimp.

Cassidy

Cassidy has been here since 2025, and works primarily with saltwater and reptiles, but is always able to help with any question. Outside of work, Cassidy likes to horseback ride, crochet, make jewelry, and read. At home, she has a dog named Gumball, and a freshwater tank. Her favorite animal is a hognose snake.

Brandon

Brandon is the Service Manager and has been at Moby Dick for over 2 years. Brandon has to be an expert in all areas as he never knows what the next customer is going to bring him. Since he doesn’t work in the store very often he has reptiles and both freshwater and saltwater tanks at home. When Brandon isn’t at work he enjoys spending time outside gardening as well as playing video games.
